RUSHFORD MISSION UPDATE
All willing Vista adults and friends (16 and over) are needed Sat Sept. 27th to assist in the last weekend of Flood Recovery work in Rushford, MN before harvest and winter sets in.  If you have had a bit of experience in any kind of carpentry or home repair, your skills would be highly appreciated. Painters may also be needed. After two years, there are still folk not back in thier homes.

Sign up in the foyer, with Lucy, whose assisting Loren Markeson.  We hope to leave about 7:00 am from McDonalds in Waseca and arrive around 9:00 am.  Loren will notify us later in the week about what tools to bring so we can maximize effeciency.  Bring $ for lunch as we will patronize the local businesses. Coffee/snack breaks will be provided. We will work with a local LSS construction site supervisor and other volunteers. Our LSS contact person thanked us repeatedly for our interest and upcoming help.

A MINISTRY TO OUR COMMUNITY
Our church family has been asked to help with putting away donations at the Neighborhood Service Center on Saturday, October 18th. Food will be collected at local retailers by the Girl Scouts of America, and brought to the Neighborhood Service Center where it will need sorting and to be put on shelves.
We expect that our group will be needed in the midafternoon (2 to 3pm) that day as the collection will go on all day long. The success of the drive, will determine when we are needed -- and the best we can do is judge from past years experience.
Please make a note of the event on your calendar, and plan to help if you possibly can.
Neighborhood Center Director, Christine B., has described her time spent with our church family as "being in the presence of kings" -- in her native language. I for one, am honored and humbled by her words.
This is a mission field ripe for blessings, and for being blessed -- please consider being a part of it.
Please contact Loren M. - Vista Missions, if you have any questions

MISSIONS  TRIP
Bogotá, Columbia, South America
The trip of a lifetime, to change your life, and impact a child (or children) for the rest of their lives.

Your Mission Committee is gathering names of those interested in traveling to Children's Vision International in Bogotá, Columbia on a mission outreach.
This trip would be open to anyone. Minors would need adult sponsors or parents along. There has not been a age limit set, however, common sense will need to prevail on this type of trip. The target date will be for one week, up to ten days,
in February, and or, March of 2009. There is not a minimum number needed, however the size of a group is ideally 10 to 15.
Many are familiar with CVII -- however many are not. In an effort to answer questions, I will be available to anyone interested. I am willing to meet with you in groups, as a family, or one on one. My cell number is 507-521-1736.
Thank you for your consideration -- your life could be changed forever.
Volunteers Needed
If spending a day or two, or as long as you wish - helping Minnesota people recover from flooding - making friends for life - have a heat that is compassionate - hands that are willing and able - then contact Loren M. at 507-521-1736 (cell)
