Outreach and Missions
As an Evangelical Church, we are committed to telling the gospel to those near and far. Therefore, we have such local ministries as Vacation Bible School. This summer's outreach for those in the community at all ages. They will participate in a variety of activities designed to encourage an awareness of God’s presence in their life and then to apply their faith to their lives.
The 2006 VBS theme will be Fiesta.
We look beyond local needs through such ministries as short-term missions. We give encouragement and financial support to youth and adults in missions projects in other places. We also support career missionaries in Japan and Zaire. Over and above our giving to denominational missions and church planting, we give 5% of our total budget to missions at home and abroad.
During June of 2005 two church youth were active in Colombia.
Fellowship and Member Care
Since God calls us to come together to "stir one another to love and good works", we have encouraged many opportunities for fellowship within our congregation. Many of us participate in small, caring groups where one is supported in life and ministry by other believers. Every member of our Diaconate is responsible for a care list, which is a portion of our membership that they keep in touch with and pray for. Our prayer line provides instant access to the praying congregation in times of crisis. Aside from the usual potlucks, we provide a simple meal on Wednesday evening as we begin our family night activities.
